Free License:
Discontinued Licenses:
Enterprise License
Enterprise License covers:
-
Using BotDetect on an unlimited number of websites (sub-domains) on an unlimited number of domains assuming that you own
both all the domains and all of the websites (sub-domains) on which BotDetect is being used.
For example, using BotDetect on forms on: www.yourdomain.com
, yourdomain.com
, fr.yourdomain.com
,
www.yourbrand1.com
, and blogs.yourbrand2.com
requires a single Enterprise License.
Enterprise License does NOT cover:
-
The right to use BotDetect on websites (sub-domains) that are given / sold / rented to third parties, or used by third parties.
Example 1) Purchasing the Enterprise License will not allow Atlassian to embed BotDetect in its 'Jira-as-a-service'
on either user5.atlassian.com
or jira.user5.com
sites.
To cover for such an use either Atlassian needs a license that includes the Shared-Hosting rights; what both the Developer and OEM licenses do
-- or the 'User5' needs the Enterprise License.
Example 2) Purchasing the Enterprise License will not allow Atlassian to embed BotDetect in its 'Jira-as-a-software'; and
then license the 'Jira-as-a-software' to the 'User5'.
To cover for such an use either Atlassian needs a license that includes the Distribution rights; what both the Developer and OEM licenses do
-- or the 'User5' needs the Enterprise License.

To put it simply, it allows you to deliver your application containing unmodified Enterprise Version of BotDetect as a service from
subdomains of your own domain or your customers' domains, as well as some other things on top of it.
-
Royalty-free distribution within your applications (Enterprise Version)
You do not pay any fees when distributing an application containing unmodified Enterprise Version of BotDetect to multiple clients.

-
The right to redistribute or share BotDetect source code (unmodified or customized by you).
-
The right to include BotDetect into website / form building tools, web application firewalls, and other products and services that directly
or indirectly compete with the BotDetect.
For example, Automattic couldn't use a Developer License to add BotDetect Captcha into WordPress Login, Register or Comment forms, and put
it for download on WordPress.org
Equally, Microsoft couldn't use a Developer License to make SharePoint Login, or to develop a Login SharePoint Feature / WebPart including
BotDetect Captcha protection and redistribute it to their customers, which will then deploy freely the paid version of the BotDetect as a
part of their SharePoint projects.
To make this use case possible, both Microsoft and Automattic can either buy a custom license or each of their customers should purchase an
adequate license for themselves.

Domain License

Using BotDetect on an unlimited number of websites (sub-domains) on a single domain assuming that you own both
the domain and all of the websites (sub-domains) on which BotDetect is being used.
Example 1) Using BotDetect on forms belonging to: www.yourdomain.com
, es.yourdomain.com
,
fr.yourdomain.com
, investors.yourdomain.com

blogs.yourdomain.com
, and etc.yourdomain.com
requires a single Domain License because those are just
different websites on the same yourdomain.com
domain.
Example 2) Using BotDetect on forms belonging to: www.yourdomain.co.uk

Domain License does NOT cover:
-
The right to use BotDetect on websites (sub-domains) that are given / sold / rented to third parties, or used by third parties.
Example 1) Purchasing the Domain License and owning the typepad.com
domain doesn't give third parties the right to use
BotDetect on their individual blogs (such as sethgodin.typepad.com
).
Example 2) If Zendesk purchase the Enterprise License it will not give Zendesk the right to use it on zendesk.foursquare.com, nor it
will allow Zendesk to let Foursquare to use it on zendesk.foursquare.com.
To cover for such a usage Typepad and Zendesk will need a license that includes the Shared-Hosting License what both the Developer
License and the OEM License do -- or Seth Godin will need the Website License to use BotDetect on sethgodin.typepad.com, and Foursquare
will need the Website License if they do not use BotDetect someplace else within foursquare.com, or the Domain/Enterprise License if
they do use BotDetect someplace else within foursquare.com domain.
